My happy place (other than my studio) is anywhere near the lake or see.

Just sitting and looking at that "big blue" fills my soul with joy.

Does art always have to be big?
Sometimes your voice is just not loud. Instead maybe small and tiny. So why not that journal?

 I bought this one from Josefina and pimped, uhhh "pinked" it up a bit { smile }

Back home

I arrived back home from vacation safe and sound,

but what am I to do when my heart and soul are still at the sea? 

During vacation I reflected on my life and pondered over upcoming creative projects. What projects will bring me forward. Not only as an artist, but as a person. I want to get out of my comfort zone and jump into something new. Just like jumping into that crystal clear blue water that I enjoyed so much over the past weeks.

YAY!!! I found some feathers at the lake the other day! 

I'm just so happy to be back in the studio, as I wasn't around last week. There was so much going on ... including an art exhibition where four paintings of mine are being shown.  { yay! }

WOYWW Happiness can sometimes be as simple as...

I've been strolling around collecting driftwood and feathers.

Journaling in Morocco

If you're like me you always have a small stash of art supplies with you when you travel. As so on my recent trip to Morocco.

   I took two small journals,

  some watercolor papers 

  and a few pencils with me.

I love to find a nice place in the sun...

sketching, drawing & doodling the day away. 

Of course I found some feathers...

which where just perfect to sketch.
What more does a girl want?!

So remember... never leave home without a small stash of art supplies!

I could go on and on.

But I think I'll just never ever have enough art journals for all my ideas!

 - now I'm totally into sewing (!) feathers onto my journal pages -

The Goddess in my Journal

Journaling soothes my soul. 

It's a place where things evolve and come to life....

In my journals I celebrate my love for art. These journals pages just take me away to a different space and time. This one for example...

I started out on this lovely lady ages ago.

I actually never work on any special journal/page continuously. Creativity leads me the way and when I get bored or don't like the way my spread is coming along, well I shut that journal or turn the page and start something anew. 
Yesterday I came along that somewhat sad looking lady and then got totally carried away (as usual!)...

This little one on the other side of the page was bothering me. So she had to go.
After painting, drawing & gessoing (is that actually a word?!)...

I then started - hold tight to your seats - sewing (!) feathers on the page. 

I really do like the way she's coming along at the moment, but I'm gonna close that journal for awhile until I continue again someday.

Yep, that's me... an art journal addict.
